Free books for kids
All children and youth who visit the Blue Flamingo get to take a book of their choosing home for free, each time they visit. A big thank you goes out to our many book donors, whose donations of lightly used books make this program possible.
Yoga
Meets each Wednesday morning at 10:30am in the basement of Dietz Memorial UMC, located at 1423 S. 10th Street. Emma from the Blue Flamingo is our certified yoga instructor. All experience levels, including none at all, are invited. Optional free will donation; mats and blocks provided.
Community Garden
Located in the backyard of the Blue, this community garden space includes individual plots and shared plots for neighborhood gardeners. To sign up for a plot, volunteer at this site or learn more, contact Shannon at the store.
Special events
These will be posted on our calendar, and range from live music outdoors to garden tea parties to knitting classes to craft days to holiday parties. All events are alcohol-free and appropriate for all ages.
