The Blue Flamingo stocks a variety of slightly used goods, including books, clothing,
household items, toys, décor, and vintage items, as well as new fairly traded items.
We sell items at the store and have begun to sell our vintage items on EBay,

The Blue Flamingo is proud to sell the products of Ten Thousand Villages, Equal
Exchange, and World of Good, all fair trade organizations. Fair Trade creates job
opportunities that respect individual cultures and provides income for essential
and educational needs. Artisans work in a safe and dignified environment and have
an active role in how their work is created and sold. Artisans earn a fair wage
and build relationships for sustainable income, creating hope and independence for
the future.
We have an Arts & Literature program at the Blue Flamingo, hosting events such as
Fridays At The Blue and Family Garden Reading Activity. Fridays At The Blue is held
the last Friday of each month and features local authors, artists and musicians
at the store. It is a FREE event with refreshments and we are open for shopping.
Family Garden Reading Activities are also FREE and held during the spring and summer
months either at the store or at Dietz Memorial United Methodist Church. We read
books, play games, create art, eat healthy snacks and learn about the garden. This
is in association with the BIG Gardens, a series of community gardens located in
Omaha focused on empowering neighbors to grow nutritious food, build community partnerships,
improve their health and start small businesses. There is a BIG Garden site located
behind the Blue Flamingo!
We will also be starting Free Yoga community classes at the store for adults and
children In May.
Plus, all children and students that come to the store receive a FREE book and art
supplies!!
